Sorry Michael Palin, according to your friend John Cleese you are not longer the funniest Palin. But look on the bright side, at least your jokes are intentional. I can somehow picture Eric Idle playing a British version of Sarah Palin on an episode of Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

Now I remember why I would get frustrated watching Wheel of Fortune.

If you did not see the season premiere of Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s South Park, you just might have missed out on a life altering major event. Of course I am exaggerating but this is how out of proportion news sources have made this latest episode entitled “The China Problem”. One of the two story arcs is Cartman and Butters taking a Chinese restaurant hostage in hopes of stopping the Chinese invasion, the b-plot is the traumatic story of Stan and Kyle being unable to move on after seeing Indiana Jones be raped by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.

This episode is ironic for me as I have actually said more than once in a drunken conversation that George Lucas has “raped my childhood”. I have also referred to him as “my Judas”. People may think I may go a bit too far, but I tend to find these so called “people” usually were deprived of these films as a child and therefore don’t feel as betrayed when these figures figuratively urinate on stories you hold more dear than any religion.

As for what Lucas’s and Speilberg’s reactions were?

To quote the LA times:

Show Tracker put a call in to Lucasfilm to try to get their thoughts (ha!), but in the meantime, do you side with “South Park,” or those behind the “Crystal Skull” on this one? Coming a few days after The Times’ Hero Complex wrote that “Indy 5″ is still a possibility, it might be time to make your voice known.

Now the LA times as far as I can tell have not followed up on this, however Nikki Finki has posted this update on her blog:

I understand that no Hollywood bigwig will bother to lodge a protest with Viacom over the South Park episode. “We don’t want to engage. We just want it to go away,” an insider just told me. The Wednesday night episode, which was the show’s fall season premiere, was seen by an average of 3.7 million viewers, up 21% from last fall’s debut and topping all of cable during its time period. It stands as the show’s most-watched fall premiere since 1999.

Frankly if you think that Stone and Parker crossed the line, then you didn’t see Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

And it appears I am not alone. Looking at the LA Times poll once more shows a genuine disappointment with Kingdom of the Crystal Skull:

I’m jealous of James Gunn right now, considering I had this same idea only it was called The G-Rated Porno and did not involve the graphic ending which, kudos to Gunn, is friggin hilarious. I look forward to seeing more of James Gunn’s PG-Porn. Does anyone know if Nathan Fillion is in all of them?

Deep Thoughts: I have a feeling I’ll be getting a bunch of inappropriate hits from this post.

Can you say TO-RON-TO? There is a lot of speculation on whether or not this one is legitimate, considering how guerrilla marketing operates these days, but I’m hoping that is not true.

This is bar none one of the funniest pieces of video I have seen in a long time. If you did not know NBC is producing a Knight Rider reboot (Hasselhoff free) to start airing this December. With CanWest Global presenting it in Canada there was a publicity stunt in front of Union station down on Front Street in downtown Toronto.

A female driver, just after taking KITT the talking car off the truck, exits the vehicle to throw the wedges back onto to the truck. Then %^&* hits the fan.

After the jump you can see the car theft from an opposing angle as well as the angry aftermath.

Priceless.

If you like 24 and were like me back in 1994 calling your ISP via modem after midnight in order to save money(paying by the hour for the Internet was and is ridiculous)  then you will appreciate this video from the folks at Collegehumor.

Needless to say this is just an absolute masterpiece. Seeing Stephen Colbert perform a mix of Corey Hart and The Police is gold. Not only that, Harmonix has just released this track for free to play in Rockband and of course presumably in Rock Band 2 (2 more days)

This one is sort of self explanatory. Triumph the Insult Comic Dog (from the Late Show with Conan O’Brien) goes to the San Diego Comic Convention and insults every person he sees. The best has to go to the Bomberman fan who is there to play Pokemon.
